Details
The origin of Godsends, as of yet is unknown, however there have been claimed of sightings, seeing vials of Ambrosia crashing to the Earth from the atmosphere.
There are two ways of obtaining a Godsend. The first are these vials of Ambrosia as previously mentioned. They are small discs, which are placed into the mouth. Once the teeth clamp down, the Ambrosia is ejected and then ingested. Following ingestion the Ambrosia mixes with the body, forming a chemical reaction. This reaction created a sac on the heart in which the Ambrosia sits, the source of the Godsend.
The second way that a Godsend is acquired is having it passed down through generations. Once a human drinks the Ambrosia, there is a very high (but not certain) chance that the Ambrosia will also appear in a sac on the heart of the newborn, who will possess the same abilities as the original Ambrosia drinker.
Within this sac on the heart, there are four segments, split by a thin, organic film known as a Canto. The more that a Godsend is trained, the more Ambrosia fills the sac, bursting through a layer of film and awakening the next Canto, granting more power and a wider range of ability.
The nature of the abilities that are gained from ingesting Ambrosia are largely random, and the reason remains unknown. There are lots of duplicate Godsends in the world, especially amongst elemental wielders such as fire, water, and air, however there is no way of predicting what abilities ingesting Ambrosia will grant.
With the use of Godsends that grant the ability to heal, Godsend wielders are able to recover from almost any injury, so long as the Ambrosia sac remains intact. The Ambrosia in the sac contains the genetic code of a Godsend wielder, and so the body can regenerate from any injury, so long as the injury was caused by a Godsend.
Owning a Godsend makes someone a heavy minority in the world, with there estimated to only be around 1000-2000 Godsend wielders in the entire world.
