Toshiro Hikari was born in Kanagawa to a mother that he barely knew and a father that was considered a God amongst men. His father, Kensei Hikari, was known as arguably the greatest Gladiator to ever exist. But upon his untimely passing, Toshiro was left to be raised by his grandparents, Mitsuharu (A Hall of Fame Gladiator in his own right) and Manami.

Toshiro always held onto the dream of one day being a Gladiator like many in his family lineage. His family on his father’s side contained a long line of Gladiators all able to wield the Lightning Godsend, one of the rarest and most powerful to have ever existed if wielded correctly. But unfortunately for him, due to a defective heart, his Godsend never awakened. But Toshiro never gave up hope, training his body every day, waiting faithfully for his Godsend to awaken.
